David Whitmore is not afraid to take on tough cases anywhere in the world. A graduate of Tulane University with a double major in Political Science and Psychology, David also attended Tulane Law School. Before joining the firm more than 30 years ago, David was the legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana.David has concentrated his practice on maritime personal injury litigation, particularly litigation under the Jones Act. In addition to representing Jones Act seamen, he has represented persons injured on offshore platforms as well as injured parties in workers’ compensation matters mostly before the United States Department of Labor under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. Finally, David also works with numerous clients who have been involved in automobile accidents, accidents with 18-wheelers and other commercial vehicles, slip and falls, and those who have claims for premises liability and products liability as well as civil rights violations.
Even though he is a studious counselor, David makes everyone laugh with his witty humor and antics. He is a patron of the arts with special appreciation for local theater productions and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. As a season ticket holder, he is a supporter of the Saints and Pelicans. David is also an avid runner who participates in local charity races.
